Toyota carina,avensis,corolla,auris,rav4,vvti,16v,aygo,landcruiser,import
All conquering Toyota???
maybe or maybe not,i am not a convert due to fact that i myself am a mechanic, all my friends are mechanics so why is it that none of them drive this all mighty japanese thoroughbred, the way we calculate which car is reliable and unreliable is hugely flawed, these were a mighty brand no doubting that, when you have finished on Autozaar.com do me a favour,go onto Ebay type repair into the cars for sale section, see how many of these are Toyota???
Common faults of the top of my head
Toyota CarinaE Lambda Sensor(never really rectified)
Toyota Avensis Gearbox(most manuals 1.8,2.0)whining
Toyota Surf 2.4 Diesel Engine(oh no not another one??)go for the 3.0litre much better.
All conquering VVTI(variable valve timing)engine i have been called out to so many of these i diagnose the problem over the phone, mostly yaris, smaller engine type, some have barely 2000 miles on the clock??
Best till last the donkey of all cars the
MIGHTY TOYOTA lucida ,yes you can fit a push bike in the back of this, but please make sure that the tyres are pumped up because you will need it,this is probably the worst car on the road(most comfortable)Engines 2.2 2wd,4wd even 10wd,gearboxes,these are poorly made with no air circulating around the engine which cause the engine to overheat,if you must buy a Toyota then try the british 2.4 petrol(previa)
i have really had a good go at the Toyota(I Do Apoligise)but i am on the front line,i don't work for a glossy auto magazine that's more than likely sponsored by Toyota, i will say that toyota did make the best Diesel Engine i have ever heard and that was used in the CarinaE and Avensis,i know of one that had done 423,000 miles and it was the quietest diesel engine i had heard.
And i lied i bought a little 1.0 litre Toyota Starlet from a main dealer(trade-in)it was ancient D1986,but it had just under 20k on the clock, and everybody tried there hardest to race me in this car, this was the most amazing speed demon i have ever come across,i blew it up going a ton down the motorway, with a vw polo lagging behind.(i know i'm 34 so what)
